Jack --

About your 'let the blue states have their illegals...' idea...

You MUST know this...

Apportionment is the ball game.

(For now. The Dem goal has been -- and remains -- 'a path to voting for us.' But that's for later.)

Apportionment of House seats is based on population.

Population -- some think, at least for now -- includes illegals.

Democracy in the U.S. has zero interest in any state receiving seats in Congress for the mere fact of hosting people who do not belong here.

Doing so creates a mobius strip of illegality: apportionment -- House seats -- major votes -- illegals provide margin -- margin creates laws... and on and on... Illegality writes the statutes. Thus, alleviating distortions in population figures should follow closely on the removal of all criminal / terrorist watch list / recidivist / violent / "gottaway" / etc.

Portraying folks who support legal immigration as nativist bigots hardly helps.

I have never met a U.S. citizen who opposes immigration.

In fact, folks who uphold illegal entry despite current law write their own essay in ignoring democracy -- which is how current law became that.

As for TPS -- It's discretionary. In Secretary Noem's hands. After the invasion Biden allowed, it is far less significant than remigrating the wrongly present -- to preserve U.S. democracy.

Thank you and cheers.

Hope you had a great Fourth.

Great compromise...I'm on board. Although I do note from casual glance, it seems that--for some strange reason--immigrants don't seem to come to states where Trump wins by 30 points.
